Governor Candidate? 2 Months ago Karma: 1
Is there anyone who is looking toward this?
I know people need a rest from this cycle and then the holidays coming up, but shouldn't we have a idea for this.

Definitely!!! We should be recruiting candidates for State Assembly and State senate as well. Hopefully this will be on the agenda for our November 15th general meeting (see calendar).

We should make sure we have a strong Gubernatorial candidate, then focus on local elections, I think. The State Assembly races are simply unwinnable and it is nearly impossible for our candidates to be heard or seen as viable. The Democrats outspend Republicans in my area 4th District $300,000 to $3,000. The Camden/Gloucester Dem machine has millions in their war chest. We have to come up with at least $1,000 per candidate to make a run in any ONE district. Now is the time to start building our base locally and winning some seats. Any suggestions on who our Gubernatorial candidate should be or what qualifications he/she should have?

That would be great! I've heard them talk about the topic on air and he seemed pretty adamant about not running. Maybe we should try to contact him and see if he's interested.

Dennis Malloy would be good for increasing interest in the LP among people who don't understand what the party is about or haven't been interested in learning about the party.

But I think one of the drawbacks is that some people may view him only as a radioshow host and not necessarily as someone willing/able to govern if elected. They may not view him as a serious candiate.

Of course, some people probably thought that about Schwarzenegger and he ended up getting elected twice.
