The LPPA and NJLP Convention 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 1
Having attended the state convention I just wanted to get a general feeling on how everyone thought it went. I personally thought that it was very well organized and managed with just a few things that could have improved. As far as speakers and candidates went though, I certainly could not have done better. Please leave your comments and criticisms so that next year we can put together an even better convention.

Because of the discrepancies between the printed schedule and "what really happened", I felt pressured into a situation (printed: NJ business meetings on both Saturday and Sunday) that was a financial hardship. Also, the early start of the Saturday business meeting was difficult for Frank, who had to take time off from work in order to have even an hour's sleep before driving 2 hours to the convention center.

The convention was a good time. I liked having the business meetings Saturday morning - we finished business by mid-day, so we could focus on meeting fellow Libertarians, meeting the candidates and, in some cases, their staff, and attending both the individual candidate presentations and the debate. Speaking of which, the format for the debate was excellent, especially the "lightning" rounds.

I thought the convention went really well. I had another event to attend to that weekend and unfortunately couldn't stay to get hte full effect. The Saturday business meeting went well. From what little I got to see it seemed to be a very well organized and fun event. I, for one, have never senn that many libertarians together at once. I thought the candidate debates were very spirited and insightful.
