This thread discusses the Content article: The Party of Ron Paul?

Thanks for all of that info. Plenty of points to debate and knowledge to reinforce our position. I think it is clear that Ron Paul's view are much closer to the Libertarian Party than the Constitution Party.

Ron Paul is pro-life. He also is very strong on closing the borders. He also wants to deport illegal aliens.

Paul did run as a Libertarian in 1988.

I would say his views are half libertarian, half conservative.

Though the libertarians give him more respect than the conservatives.

I think the problem is again confusing morality with poiltics as a libertarian. Dr. Paul is Pro-Life, but he has stated clearly that he would not overturn the will of the people or of the Juidiciary. That is a libertarian view. I am personally pro-life myself, but I do not think that means everyone else has to be, which makes me pro choice. Being responsible for my own life and of those close to me, as well as being accepting of others' views of human existence is what makes me a libertarian.

That is like saying not everyone has to be against slavery and murder.Abortion happens to be both of these things. As citizens we cannot own another human being but we do allow it through abortion.Women are given the right to decide who will live and who will die.Where are the rights of the acused.Who speaks for the condemned. Why arenot they allowed to be tried by a jury of their peers.Amass murderer has more rights. If the lp had principle they would fight this important fight.Life is the most important right. This is a moral issue and the lp cannot run away and hide.If you belive in liberty you must believe in life. The essence of all liberty is life.
