I know many evanglicals and they as a group are more tolerent Then the secular groups who want to silence people of faith.There are many more attacks against christians in this country than any other group.Even muslims get a better hearing then evangelicals.Remember this is a christian country based on christian principles.Patrick Henry said, the greatest gift I could give my children is faith in Jesus Christ.God has given us the choice of rulers and it is their duty to select christian rulers. However Patrick Henry never stated that. According to Snopes and this site it is a misquotation. Rather it is a creation of David Barton who has admitted that several quotations he has created have no primary source.

Our country's founders came from a variety of religions. Jefferson, Franklin, and Washington are most often considered Deists.

Jefferson admired and wrote about Jesus Christ, however he rejected the divinity of Jesus Christ and even produced a bible that excised all supernatural events.

We are not solely a Christian nation. Rather we are a nation of many religions. Our tradition respects the diversity of many beliefs.

The meaning of diversity is that you are not really sure what you believe in.We may have diversity of religion now but in the beginning of the founding of our nation their was only christianity.The constitution was a product of the protestant reformation. Capitalism itself was a product of the calvinist work ethic.In 1776 there was no talk of diversity.That was a product of modern confussionist thought.
