LP vs. CP 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 2
This thread discusses the Content article: LP vs. CP

Finally a clear, definitive answer on this question. I get asked it quite often.

This was a great article and should be read by all NJLP officers as it will make it easy to answer questions concerning the differences between the two parties.

Both parties support freedom. Many cp members supported ron paul. The main difference is the cp is a pro-life party.Their candadate is very close to rp in his thinking and positions.

They are also anti personal freedoms. They want to ban gambling, they want to ban pornography. The LP starts with the principle of self ownership. The CP base principles are all based on religion. They are another variant of the moral majority.

I hope you are not saying that the lp is hostile toward religion or people of faith.I take my religion very serious. Ayn Rand had a very bigoted attitude toward religion. She would not allow people of faith in her inner circle. She was a very small minded bigot.I could never follow an individual such as her.I have no problem with the moral majority. The main problem comes from individuals who try to limit our religious freedom. They are tring to force their non-belief on people of faith. We have a vote and we will use it.Their are more of us then there is of them.We will fight for our religious liberties.

The LP is not hostile towards religion or people of faith. I am hostile to people who try to impose their own beliefs on others by claiming it is their religous liberty to do so. Everyone has a right to believe whatever they want without being imposed upon by anyone else. That's the part the religious right forgets. They have the right to worship and live in whatever manner they choose. The main problem is they want to make everyone else live and worship like they do. We do not want to create a non-religous society, we want a society with TRUE religious tolerance (not just evangelical Christian tolerance), allowing people to worship (or not) as they see fit.

A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government.

– Thomas Jefferson (1801)
