On July 13, I tried to post a message to the Announce list asking if anybody from my area was considering going to the picnic on the 19th. Today -- July 21, two days AFTER the event -- I received a form response indicating my message could not be posted. The message reported "I'm sorry, the list moderators for the announce list
have failed to act on your post."

So what has happened to the announce list moderator? (The message appeared to indicate there's more than one, but is that reasonable?) Is this a permanent condition, in which case we must find another moderator, or only temporary, in which case I deserve an apology for having being ignored for a week.

I don't want to have to login to the NJLP site just to get an answer to my concerns (or just to find out that nobody has bothered to respond to my concern). I ask that replies concerning this message be sent to ME, at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . I don't think that's too much to ask.

Based on your description of your message it probably wouldn't have been approved. (see our business rule 8d) I do notice that in the meantime several messages to announce were approved.

Chris W. is the list moderator, an email to him might be more appropriate than a posting here. My guess is that he saw your message, saw that it was inappropriate to the list, then just didn't act on it.

To all who are not familiar per our bylaws we have two lists:

• announce - all members and inquiries are subscribed to this (or at least should be). Open to members and non-members, but only members may post. It is used for official announcements only, not for discussion. Anyone can subscribe here.


• activists - open to members only and by invitation by the chair only. For a long time this list was not kept up to date. About a month ago we went through the subscribers and added a bunch of names. If you are not subscribed to activists and want to be, let me know. I'll talk to the chair.
