I think he answered correctly. It is obvious that proclaiming you will legalize crack and heroin is not going to win you many votes. De-criminalizing it is another thing entirely. Making all drug offenses misdeamors with only a fine and no possiblility of jail time would be a step in the right direction. I would like to see a candidate take a moderate libertarian view, which I think would be more likely to atract the most voters.
