  • US Is On A Nationalizing Binge

    (Fri, 11 Jul 2008 11:54:00 +0000)

The US federal government is considering the nationalization of the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae because of the stumbling in their share values and instability. The problem with this, even though it should be obvious is as follows straight from the NY Times (I know, but they got this one right):

the shares of Fannie and Freddie would be worth little or nothing, and any losses on mortgages they own or guarantee ? which could be staggering ? would be paid by taxpayers.

This one of Bush's worst ideas, and that is saying something when it comes to...

  • More NJ News Updates

    (Tue, 08 Jul 2008 14:48:00 +0000)

I read the Star Ledger, PolitickerNJ, and local papers and blogs to get news of what is going on in and around NJ. What I have stumbled upon on the way is some very scary remarks from people who seem to be out of touch with what America is supposed to be about. Freedom. (Thu, 26 Jun 2008 13:12:00 +0000)

For those of you who don't know me I work in the food industry. This means that I deal with OSHA, FDA, USDA, and other government acronyms. But something rather disturbing has occurred that truly scares me in a way that none of these agencies ever had. The state of Florida is buying U.S. Sugar for $1.7 billion.

The sugar industry in the US has been supported by government price fixing and import tariffs that keep US sugar costing more than double what it costs in the rest of the world. This has caused a few things to happen:

  • NJ Once Again Spends More Money Than It Has

    (Wed, 25 Jun 2008 12:39:00 +0000)

Solar panel installation companies are laying off workers and NJ residents are waiting years for solar panels to be installed on and around their homes. Why? Because NJ has a rebate program to promote clean energy but they don't have the money to back it up. These installation companies have to wait years to get checks for work that they are doing and they can't afford to install solar panels and not get paid for their work. There are over 700 applications for solar power rebates still backlogged and now NJ is going to have to pull the plug on...
