We are extremely pleased to announce the details for this year's Convention. We are holding the Convention at the Rutgers Conference Center in New Brunswick, NJ. For information about the venue, go to the Conference Center website.

The Convention will be held on March 13th from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Party's Business Meeting will be held on morning of March 13th and will be open to all. Registration will be required for the afternoon events, which include a luncheon and speakers. Our full convention package includes lunch on Saturday and afternoon speakers with coffee and refreshments available all day.

Registration for the full Convention will be $75 until March 8th. Registration at the convention will be $85.

Speakers only (no lunch) registration is $30. Students discounts are available.

Note that the business meeting on Saturday morning is free. You do not need to register for the business meeting.

Speakers include:

Bob Bowdon - "The Cartel, Public Education in Crisis"

Mr. Bowdon has recently directed his first film, The Cartel. The Cartel explores the problems with the education system in New Jersey. Mr. Bowdon has been a New Jersey-based television producer, reporter, news anchor, and commentator for the past fifteen years. His varied career has seen him producing television shows; hosting news programs; conducting in-depth on-camera interviews; appearing in satirical news sketches for the Onion News Network; anchoring regional news broadcasts covering New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut; and shaping Bloomberg Television's World Financial Report. He is president of Bowdon Media, an Internet marketing firm, and holds degrees in mechanical engineering, engineering management, and film production from Purdue University, Stanford University, and New York University.

Julian Heicklen - "The State of the Union"

Mr. Heicklen is an Emeritus professor in the Chemistry Department at Penn State University. At Penn State, he was affiliated with the Center for Air Environment Studies, the Ionosphere Research Laboratory, and the Institute for Biological Sciences. He has been active in libertarian causes for a long time.

He has served as a member of the Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania Board of Directors, a Student Outreach Program Chairman, Western Vice Chair Libertarian Party of PA, and the Faculty Advisor of the College Libertarians of Penn State. He has also served on the Libertarian Party National Platform Committee.

Mr. Heicklen recently had been educating jurors at the Federal Court House in New York City. While distributing Fully Informed Jury Pamphlets he was arrested several times. His arrests were covered by the NJLP, Free Talk Live, the Blog of Bile, and the Libertarian News Examiner.

Jany Sabins, Esquire - "Death and Taxes"

Ms. Sabins is an attorney admitted to the New Jersey and New York State Bars. She completed two undergraduate degrees at The Ohio State University, a Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law, and an LL.M. Masters in Tax Law from New York University, and has hands-on experience from her association with both New York and New Jersey law firms. Ms. Sabins specializes in tax, estate, and business planning and controversy for individuals and businesses, along with estate administration and litigation. She is also an established speaker and writer on those topics, regularly presenting educational seminars for public and private groups, and as a contributing author for federal tax publications.

Ms. Sabins ran for state assembly in the 27th district on the Libertarian Party ticket in 2003. As a candidate she appeared on CNN Headline News.

Jerry Cantrell, NJ Taxpayers Association
