South Jersey Libertarian Party

Consisting of the counties of , Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Ocean, the South Jersey Libertarian Committee (SJLC) is the local official organization of the Libertarian Party, the third largest political party in the United States. Everyone that is a member of the LP or NJLP is automatically a voting member of the SJLC. Those that have registered to vote in the state of New Jersey as Libertarians are also members of this county committee and have equal voice at our meetings, and can present items for discussion, though they are not guaranteed the right to vote on actions taken by the committee until they are full members of the NJLP.

While not the largest of the county caucuses in New Jersey, we have a strong tradition of political activism and have been on the political scene in the area for over a decade. South Jersey Libertarians have competed for seats in the United States Congress, New Jersey Legislature, and Town Councils since 2000. Besides being the local NJLP authority, which makes us responsible for approving local candidates, providing information to the public, and offering comments to the media, the SJLC has managed a political talk radio show out of Sewell, Gloucester County, and continues to enjoy a very strong tie to local Libertarian student groups like the Rowan Libertarian Society in Glassboro.

Meeting Info

The South Jersey Libertarian Party gets together for political discussion on the first Saturday of every month from noon until 2:00 P.M. at a place to be determined at the previous meeting. The location will rotate throughout all of the active member counties of the SJLC. An email to all members will be sent out at least a week prior to the event, providing everyone on the list with the location of, ad directions to, the meeting by the SJLC Secretary. providing as many members as possible with a chance to attend a local meeting. Several members travel for over an hour to get to some meetings, and such networking has led to the continued growth and success of the committee.
